CrossCast is an Online UI and tools platform for production
professionals.
Over the past couple of years, I’ve spoken with Mirco
Pasqualini,
lead
designer for the system, and here he gives his insights on version 2.0.
Version 2.0 is slated for release
sometime during the summer of ’08, and Mirco sent over some
new screenshots and
content about the platform, as featured below.
Two screens from CrossCast look very Joost like which
Mirco
concedes is the look in the current beta version but will change
significantly over 2008.
By Mirco Pasqualini:
The evolution of CrossCast, the second version, becomes an
online
framework
for Network TV.
The system, planned to be ready for summer 2008, will
offer services and technology on demand for building personal and
professional network TV over the Internet, via computer,
mobile
phone, iPhone/iPod/AppleTV, setboxes, and other video platforms.
The scope of CrossCast is not only for building TV as video
websites but for building TV Internet platforms.
What Is On Offer
The new framework, accessible from the web,
offer different plans, via registration, with
different services such as:
– On line transcoding
– Desktop/web Content management application
– Rich Media Interaction management over video
– WebTV Publishing components (For build full video / Flash website)
– Dot.TV Publishing components (For build video archive / website )
– 4 different content types: Video, Radio, Imaging,
and Applications
– Delivery management
– Advertising management
– API and Web services
– And much more…
A Dedicated System
The platform can be sold as to be a completely
dedicated
system for building TV Networks.
With the above service, we can develop WiTV 2.0 using a
completely new
tool.
It’s not so much a player but an independent system
for streaming content.
It’s built
for computer (OSX, WIN, LINUX) and is in second phase for Apple iPhone/iPod,
mobile phone, as well as for dedicated set top boxes.
Many Uses For The Application
This application, based on different technology especially in
C++ and
JAVA for professional applications, can be embedded into hardware
devices such as TV and Set tops.
The WiTV application offers a large range of capabilities for
video on
demand and Live Scheduling, Advertising, Community Tools and
customization.
