The Mentalist Synopsis
The Mentalist
, starring Simon Baker and Robin Tunney, is a crime drama airing on CBS. A former fake psychic, Patrick Jane now devotes his time and keen observational skills to helping the California Bureau of Investigations solve crimes.
His supervisor, Teresa Lisbon, is wary of Jane’s unorthodox methods and his driving quest to find Red John, the serial killer who murdered his family. However, they put their differences aside and work together, along with the rest of the CBI team, to solve their cases.
The Mentalist debuted on September 23, 2008 to 15.6 million viewers. It quickly became the most popular new show for the 2008-2009 season and currently boasts a weekly average of 16.75. It ranks in the top ten and in January it won the Favorite New TV Drama award at the People’s Choice Awards.
It has been picked up for broadcast in other countries including Canada, Australia and Holland and is scheduled to begin airing in the United Kingdom sometime in 2009.
